Fans of the Tour de France were treated to a sight that will be talked about when recounting classic moments in cycling.  The expected one/two winners of the race duked it out on the slopes of the Col du Tourmalet. Andy Schleck, SaxoBank, and Alberto Contador, Astana, were locked together up the mountain. Both had outridden their teammates and were down to a one on one battle. Schleck crossed the finish line first, but Contador was awarded the same finish time.

The world's most important bike race, the Tour de France, is playing out towards the end of the epic competition with new drama every day.  The unforgiving pace and terrain are taking their toll on the riders.  To date 25 elite athletes have dropped out of the competition. Texas super-star Lance Armstrong will not bring home an eighth top spot on the podium, but he is showing his championship style nonetheless.

France have voted in parliament today to ban the Islamic full veil in public.

There was 336 votes and only one against the ban in the National Assembly of France.

The French are expected to say yes to a bill in their parliament that will ban the wearing of an Islamic full veil in public.

MP's vote later today.

If passed it will be looked at again by the French Senate in September, they need to pass it before it can become law. Then it's passed to the court to become law.
