Germany met a highly motivated Belgian team in Brussels. In its first qualification match Germany won the game in an away game 1:0. Michael Loew depended largely on his proven formation that came third in South Africa. The only change was in defence, due to the injuries of Arne Friedrich and Jerome Boateng were replaced by Marcel Jansen and Holger Badstuber.

Bundesliga Matchday 2 is well on its way to completion and has seen to many surprises once again. FC Bayern lost to Kaiserslautern, which presently shares the top of the league with Hoffenheim, with 6 points and 4 goals.
Matchday 2 got underway today at the Betzenberg in Kaiserslautern. The newcomer to the Bundesliga, 1.FC Kaiserslautern walked away with a 2:0 victory after its second game in the Bundesliga. For the time being Kaiserslautern leads the league with 6 points and 4 goals to their credit. In contrast FC Bayern now holds eighth spot in the top league with a one goal deficit.
